Origin of the waterfall's name
According to local legend, Tat Nang Waterfall originates from "Tat Piu and Ta Sam", the word “Tạt” in the Thai language means “waterfall”, while “Nàng” refers to a beautiful young woman. Therefore, the name “Tạt Nàng” carries the meaning of “the Fairy Waterfall” — associated with a tragic love story between a girl and a young man from the mountains.
Therefore the name "Tat Nang" means "waterfall of the girl" — associated with a sad love story between a girl and boy in the mountains.
